The Ronaldo Koeman side could only claim a point through Ronald Araujo’s injury-time header after the poor performance of side against Granada.

Araujo, Centre-back for Barcelona played as a makeshift striker found the back of the net right at the end of a half Barca had total dominance.

Granada took the lead in the second minute if the game through Domingos Duarte’s header.

After a disappointment show against Bayern in the Champions League last week in the opener, it raised questions concerning the future of Koeman at the club.

The crowed the stadium sounded the final whistle. Specifically, it came from home who were highly disappointed with the result and angered by their club’s direct pattern of play.

Koeman said after the game in the post match conference, the coach if the home side said he had a change of style. “We changed our style a little bit…we did what we had to do. We tried to win another way. We don’t have players one-on-one or with speed. We’re talking… I’m not going to say more because it seems I have to argue about everything.”

In sum up, Barcelona put up, outstandingly over 45 open-play crosses in the game in search of a comeback, with only a Sergi Roberto pointed shot and Araujo header which was superbly saved by Luis Maximiano to show for their first-half abilities.

Only in the second period, with conquering defenders in Gerard Pique and Araujo who pushed up top alongside substitute striker Luuk de Jong was when the backline of the visitors were properly and consistently disturbed.

De Jong seemed to be the one who lead the move for the golden chance, which however went over from inside the six-yard box, but Araujo proved to be decisive by showing the way with a settled and well-taken effort.

Despite the poor result, Barcelona are yet unbeaten in La Liga. This outcome took them up to 7th with 8 points out of four games.

Their next two games before the week is out will be to Cadiz and then at home to Levante – before a Champions League tie to Benfica on Wednesday.
