Chelsea’s Quartet of of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Edouard Mendy and Coach Thomas Tuchel were all presented with awards each in their opening match for the Champions league 2021/2022 group stages fixture at home turf, Stamford bridge, London, UK.
The quartet are all players and coach of the reigning Champions and were presented with the awards in the category as follows; Edouard Mendy for UEFA Best Goalkeeeper, N’Golo Kante for UEFA Best Midfielder, Jorginho for UEFA Best Male Player and Coach Thomas Tuchel as UEFA Best coach.
The awards were given before the Champions League group stage draws last month and were presented before kickoff at the match of Chelsea’s Champions League title defense Champaign against Russian side, Zenith St. Petersburg.
The match was a tough and keen contest with lone goal being the only disparity between the two sides. The lone goal was scored by Chelsea’s former man and new acquisition, Romelu Lukaku which made sure the reigning Champions Kick started the campaign on a strong note.
