In preview of Manchester United against Newcastle City this weekend in the English Premier League, on a talk show on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel FIVE was Van de Beek who was vested with a responsibility to have a selection of how he would want his Red Devils five-a-side team to be. Van de Been receive the question with a remark that it’s a good question.
Firstly, he picked Raphael Varane. Then, for the second person, he went on to choose Juan for the fact that he’s a big fan of his.
Thirdly, he opted for Bruno Fernandes, as a result of his scoring of many goals and offering of many assist. To rap up the 5-man selection, Van de Beek added Luke Shaw and Nemanja Matic.
These were a kind of surprise in a few 5-man team Van de Beek was asked to create of Man United’s XI.
Giving his reason for the surprise selection he decided on, The Netherlands International said he believes the team would win.
He’s decision on is mostly based on tactical aspect. Speaking further, he explained “…We have so many players, I have to make a tactical decision cause the best players don’t always win, the team wins.”
Obviously, Cristiano Ronaldo is not listed here on the former Ajax Amsterdam man’s five-a-side team and clearly he posed that best players don’t always win. But this is just his individual take on the issue not the team’s decision. As such, a warning to Solskjaer not to bank hope on individual performance as par individual player’s effort, rather a team of collective efforts.
