Recover Disabled Facebook Account

Disabled Facebook accounts keep you locked out of your account. It is not possible to access the account for the duration for which it is disabled. When the account is disabled, a message is sent when you try to log in to tell you that the account is locked.

To make the Facebook experience enjoyable for everyone, there are terms and conditions that have to be followed to avoid offending other people’s sensibilities. Violating any of the rules set in place by the Facebook team will lead to disabling the account. If you somehow fall short of these regulations and your account gets disabled, you can follow the steps outlined below.

How to Recover Disabled Facebook Account

  • To confirm if your Facebook account has been disabled or not. To do this, log in to your account and if it is disabled you will see a message that reads “Account disabled”. An appeal has to be sent to recover the account. (But in the case that you can access your account then it is not disabled).
  • It is advisable to use a computer while doing this. Tap on the “My Facebook account has been disabled” to acthe link or go to https://www.facebook.com/help/
  • Tap on the “Submit an appeal” link, which is the link found just by the right of the “if you think your account was disabled by mistake please” text. An appeal submission page will come up.

Sometimes the form displays a page that tells you to log out or to clear your browser’s cookies before you can proceed further. Close your browser again.

  • Enter your email address or phone number to log into Facebook.
  • The email address and phone number should be active and readily accessible.
  • In the “Your full name” field enter your full Facebook username in the space provided.
  • (Note that does not have to be your legal name).
  • Next, you will be required to upload a picture of your ID, this can be a passport or a driver’s license.

To Do This: Snap a picture of your ID’s front and back, and move it to your computer.

  • Next tap on the “Choose Files” icon.
  • Choose the pictures you wish to upload.
  • Tap on the “open” link to upload.
  • Add details for your appeal in the “Additional Info” field provided. This is near the bottom of the page, and enter additional information that you think the Facebook team should know.

Let them know if your legal name is different from your Facebook name.

If you suspect your account has been hacked.

If you have visual evidence, that someone other than you is using your Facebook account to default on the regulations.

Also if you have been harassed by someone that led to your account being disabled unfairly. After this is complete:

  • Tap on the “Send” icon which will be found at the bottom-right side of the form.

After the above-mentioned steps are completed, Facebook will consider the appeal. If is successful, a message will be sent to the email and/or phone number you provided alerting you that your account is now accessible and you can go on to use the Facebook network like before.
