Sit-at-Home Order: Police, Army Patrol Imo, Assure Maximum Security

Sequel to the sit -at -home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra on October 1 across the South-East, the Nigeria Police Force, Army, and other security agencies have began patrolling different areas of Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The combined teams of security agents started it movement on Wednesday around the streets of Owerri.

The movement which is described by the state police command as ”operation Show of Force” is said to have caused heavy gridlock in the state capital.

The Police Public Relations Officer Spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu said the movement of the combined team also took place in all the ten police area commands that make up the state .

He said that there was no cause for the alarm in the State.

Ikeokwu confirmed that the show of force was in response to the sit -at -home order declared by the proscribed IPOB.

The police spokesperson said that the operation Show of Force was to reassure the people of the state that the police in conjunction with the security agencies were capable of protecting them”

Ikeokwu said, “ There is no cause for the alarm . The patrol is called Operation Show of Force. it shows that we are still in the business of protecting lives and properties. We are doing it in collaboration with other security agencies and it is taking place in all the ten area commands in the state.

However, IPOB had recently declared sit – at-home in Biafraland with its readiness to join Yoruba brethren to agitate for the Oduduwa Republic.

The statement reads “We, the global movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra , wish to announce to all Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom all over the world that Biafrans across the globe shall observe a sit-at-home in Biafraland, and where permissible in the diaspora, join our Yoruba brethren agitating for the Oduduwa Republic, in public protests to mark October 1, 2020.

“ We, therefore, enjoin all Biafrans and every conscious Nigerian to boycott every government -organised ceremony designed to eulogise the failure that Nigeria has become.

“ This is the time to let the world know how disastrously intolerable human existence is in Nigeria today.
