President Buhari Felicitates WithbDr Dalhatu Sarki Tafida On 80th Birthday

President Muhammadu Buhari has warmly greeted Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to United Kingdom, Dr Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, on his 80th birthday, November 24, 2020, joining family, friends and political associates to celebrate with the elder statesman, whose antecedents in governance continue to guide and inspire other leaders.

President Buhari in a message by his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity noted, with commendation, Dr Tafida’s contribution to national development as a medical doctor, who worked with several hospitals in many states, rising to become a Permanent Secretary, Commissioner of Health, Education and Agriculture in Kaduna State, Minister of Health, and Personal Physician to former President Shehu Shagari.

As a senator, and former Senate Majority Leader, the President applauded the former lawmaker for the historical roles he played in shaping the country’s constitution, especially his advocacy for strengthening of health and educational institutions.

President Buhari prayed for longer life and good health for the former High Commissioner, who continuously shares his wisdom and experience with various governments.
