What is the procedure for applying for a NYSC relocation?
When it comes to Nysc service year, things have been a lot easier for prospective and serving corps members since Nysc introduced Relocation and Redeployment.
If corpers are posted to a location in the country where they don’t feel like spending the next year of their lives in the name of serving their country (for any reason), they can ask for Relocation/Redeployment to a different state.
And this is what Nysc Relocation and Redeployment is all about.
Even though this provision is simple and accessible to any interested corp member, many still assume it is impossible for them to be redeployed if they apply.
That, I assure you, is a complete fabrication.
Many people have profited from this offer, and many more continue to do so. In fact, it’s not as difficult as people have traditionally assumed.
Many of the corp members who applied for it and were denied presumably did so without a thorough knowledge of the provision prior to applying.
In a previous post on this blog, we covered all you need to know about Nysc Relocation and Redeployment before you apply, so you won’t be turned down once you apply.
There are only two ways to apply for Relocation and get your application approved.
1. Making an application for Camp
Applying for Nysc Relocation and Redeployment on camp is one of the most common and, of course, the first step. Interested corp members will be offered the opportunity to apply for Relocation during the 21-day Orientation course on camp during the second week.
Any interested corper will be given a form to complete.
This form will ask the corper to explain why he or she wants to relocate, as well as provide reasonable evidence to back up any claims made.
You will also be required to submit an application letter in addition to the form.
2. After Camp, Applying Online
Before, getting a Relocation clearance after camping was extremely difficult, if not impossible. However, applying for moving has now been made simpler and easier by letting corps members to apply online even after camp has ended.
Some assume it will take three months to receive approval for relocation after camp. However, I will inform you that this is also untrue. Even after two weeks of application, you may be granted for migration.
So, how do we go about filling out the Nysc Relocation online application?
Visit the Nysc official website, the Relocation portal.
Sign in using the same email and password you used when you first registered on the site.
Select “Relocation” from the drop-down menu.
Fill in the applicable fields with your information.
That’s all there is to it.
Following that, you will be alerted of any changes to your application by text messages and emails.
You’ll be contacted in the same way whether it’s authorized or not.
