Plans have been concluded to clamp down all the illegal motor parks operating across Kaduna State.
The Chairman Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Zaid Abubakar stated this in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna State recently.
Abubakar explained that the plan to shut down all illegal motor parks operating in the State is part of the government efforts to improve Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
He lamented that government is not getting any revenue from parks because most parks are operating illegally, noting that the closure of illegal motor parks will improve collection of tax efficiently.
“All illegal motor parks are going to be closed by the responsible agencies next week , and revenues from the parks will increase because there will be centralisation of collection .
“ At the moment ; we are not getting the revenues we are supposed to get from the parks because they are operating illegally”. He said.
He also added that there will be centralisation of tax collection as responsible Government Agencies will close down illegal motor parks next week to increase revenues from the park.
He advised taxpayers to voluntarily comply to their tax obligation, saying that the revenue agency will fully implement the state tax law to ensure that all businesses operating in the state pay the needed taxes to the state government
He however assured that taxpayers money will enable government to provide more basic social services, improve security and embark on life touching projects capable of improving the well-being of the masses.
