Community Appeals to Gov Udom Emmanuel to Impress Contractor to Return to Site

Indigenes of Nung Obong community in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State under the auspices of Nung Obong Patriots and Nung Obong Development Association have appealed to the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to impress it upon the contractor handling construction of Ikot Eyo/Nung Obong/ Ikot Ntung road in the community to return to site.

The community lauded the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for awarding contract for the construction of the road including a broken bridge which had cut off residents of Nung Obong and Mbiekene from accessing neighbouring communities.

The community said the contractor handling the road project, Bulletin Construction Company, halted work on the road during the last rainy season and has not resumed work at the site since then.

The groups added that indigenes of the community can no longer access their rice farm at Nung Obong, which has over the years been the means of livelihood for the farmers.
While appealing to Governor Udom Emmanuel to kindly include the project among those to be completed within the 2021 fiscal year, lauded the member representing Nsit Ubium in the State House of Assembly, Barr Otobong Bob for speaking consistently on the need for accelerated speed on construction of the road.
