Corps Members have been warned against unauthorised journeys and late night movements during their service year.
The Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim gave the warning today while addressing the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Stream IA Corps Members in Zamfara and Kaduna State Orientation Camps.
He said their parents had made huge investments in their education and upbringing, stressing that they should avoid anything that could endanger their lives.
“Don’t endanger yourselves; always be conscious of your security. And please, avoid travelling in unregistered vehicles and instead go to government-approved motor parks,” he said.
Ibrahim also urged the Corps members to emulate their colleagues of the 2020 Batch ‘A’ set, who contributed to the fight against COVID-19 by producing and donating hand sanitizers, facemasks, liquid soaps, and disinfection chambers among other things.
He enjoined them to use the Social Media to promote integration, national unity and refrain from spreading fake news, hate speech and tribal sentiments.
The Director-General encouraged the Corps Members to avail themselves of the N75 billion Naira Nigerian Youth Investment Fund, the National Young Farmers’ Scheme and other programmes of the Federal Government, which are aimed at empowering the youth for self-employment and wealth creation.
The Director-General advised the Corps Members to study the felt needs of their host communities and execute projects that would improve their living standard.
“Render best service to the country and make a difference. Do not engage in consumption of hard drugs, cybercrime, protests and other illegal activities”, lbrahim added.
