How To Follow a Topic on Pinterest

How To Follow a Topic on Pinterest – Pinterest is a fascinating social media platform, but it’s also one of the most perplexing. It’s an image-based network, so it’s already a winner, but navigating, determining the source of a pin, and understanding some of the features can be more complicated than it should be. I use Pinterest frequently for inspiration, but it took me a long time to figure out how to follow a topic. So I’m writing this tutorial so that you don’t have to.

Pinterest topics are topics that get people engrossed. Art, comic books, mountain biking, cottages, DIY, and anything else comes to mind. They function similarly to categories on other websites, and pins will appear in their relevant themes as long as the pinner has used the correct hashtags. This means you may use the site more effectively by following a pinner or a topic.

I follow a variety of themes and feel that they are pretty helpful for saving time on Pinterest. If you have some spare time, the site is fantastic. You can walk around from Pinterest, ending up in some extraordinary locales. On the other hand, if you’re short on time and need something particular, using themes is an excellent method to get it done quickly.

To follow a topic in a browser, do this:

  1. Select your profile on Pinterest by logging in.
  2. From the tab buttons under your username, select Topics.
  3. Check the options and choose to Follow for topics you believe you’d be interested in.

To follow a topic on iPhone, do this:

  1. Select the compass icon at the bottom of the Pinterest app.
  2. To bring up the topics, choose a subject from the list.
  3. From the next page, choose a topic to follow.
  4. On the next page, click the red Follow icon in the top right corner.

To follow a topic on Android, do this:

  1. Open Pinterest and click the top-right search icon.
  2. To bring up the topics, choose a subject from the list.
  3. From the next page, choose a topic to follow.
  4. On the next page, click the red Follow icon in the top right corner.

Any topic you’re interested in will display at the top of your Home page. You’ll occasionally get a popup asking what you’re interested in to add more items to your list once you’ve started with them. You are free to add or remove items as you see appropriate.

Unfollow a topic on Pinterest

When you start using subjects, you’ll notice that your home page starts to fill up with random items. This is most likely due to pinners not correctly tagging their pins when they post them. This may lead you to unfollow a specific topic to filter out some of the garbage.

It’s relatively simple to accomplish this. You can either unfollow or temporarily stop a topic from showing in that session.

Filter out a topic for that session by doing the following:

  1. On Pinterest, go to your Home page and select it.
  2. At the top, click the pencil symbol to the right of your topics.
  3. To filter out a topic, choose one of the checked boxes.

To completely unfollow a topic, do the following:

  1. Choose a Pinterest profile.
  2. Select the Topic tab from the drop-down menu.
  3. Choose the topic you want to stop following.

You should now see the red Follow button instead of the gray Following button on that topic. That topic’s pins will no longer be visible.

Creating a topic for your pins

Topics are an excellent method to make sure your pins are noticed if you’re a pinner. This is especially beneficial if you’re a social media marketer or use Pinterest to promote yourself. You are adding the good themes to the correct photos, regardless of how you utilize the network.

Hashtags are used on Pinterest to organize themes. When you add many relevant hashtags to a pin, it will be listed under those topics when people pick or search for them.

  1. Select your profile on Pinterest by logging in.
  2. Choose to Create Pin from the ‘+’ icon at the top.
  3. Fill in the blanks with your image, a description, and any hashtags you’d like to use.

You can use up to twenty (20) hashtags per Pin, and I recommend using as many relevant hashtags as possible. This expands the reach of every Pin you create and ensures that as many people as possible see it. Would you please make sure they’re appropriate, as nothing irritates me more than seeing unrelated pins in a subject?
