The Vice Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Otuekong Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel has expressed feelings over the assault that occurred on the 22nd of October, 2020 where both private and government owned properties were raided and looted on strategic areas in Uyo.
Hon. Emmanuel visited some of the affected businesses on the early hours of Friday to commiserate with them.

Ukai Udeme Emmanuel on the early hours of Friday during on the spot assessment of facilities damaged in the affected areas which include; Access Bank ATM point, Anchor Insurance Place at Willington Bassey Way (Barracks Road), Access Bank, Zenith Bank, Aka Road, De Choice Mall, Techno House by Ikpa Road.
The Vice Chairman also appreciated the Governor’s effort in curbing the rising crisis that would have been altogether worse had it not been brought to a sudden halt by the Judicial Panel of Investigation into Police brutality which serves as a catalyst to address the cases of police brutality in the state, which was set up by the Akwa Ibom state Governor, Udom Emmanuel.
The Former Uyo Local Government Acting Chairman warned against social vices culpable of breaking peace and order in the state which will be at the detriment of the general public, he also urged the youths and other concerned citizens to remain calm, advising that they join hands with the government of the day to ensure that peace and adequate security be restored in the state.
He also sympathized with those who had been affected by attack, assuring them that the State Governor was working hand in hand with the Police unit to ensure that these hooligans be apprehended and brought to face the full wrath of the law.
