Swearing-In: Obot Akara Council Chairman Charges New Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers to Show Working

The Chairman Obot Akara Local Government Council, Hon. (Lady) Agnes Udoenwenwen has charged the new Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers to show working and do their utmost best to justify the confidence placed on them.

Lady Udoenwenwen stated this on Friday when she sworn-in the new Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers at the Council Secretariat, Nto Edino.

She said the new Councillors and Special Advisers must show capacity not only by their conduct, but also by their performance in various positions.

She noted that the council is working towards promoting and encouraging massive investment in agriculture that will enhance food security and self-employment of the teaming population.

“As a government closer to the people at the grassroots, we are working towards promoting and encouraging massive investment in agriculture that will enhance food security and self-employment of our teaming population. We are aiming at building a prosperous Local Government Area respected for the right reasons, and whose citizens can be proud of within and outside Akwa Ibom State”.

She assured that the Council under her watch will continue to initiate ideas that will strengthen economic and social development as well as education for the growth of Obot Akara children.

She appreciated His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel and wife Martha Udom Emmanuel for all the projects inaugurated in Obot Akara Local Government Area, handled by Inter-Ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee as well as all other projects and programmes benefited by Obot Akara people.

She congratulated the Supervisory Councillors and Special Advisers and encouraged the youths to remain law-abiding citizens to sustain the peace flow in our dear Local Government Area.

Those sworn in as Supervisory Councillors were, Friday Sunday Tom, Okon Stephen Okon, Idongesit Okon Joshua, Ime Effiong Udoka, Solomon Akpan Udom, Imo Esu and Utibe Udoette Ekpe, while Oto-obong Philip Udoh and Nsima Okon Sam were sworn in as Special Advisers.

Others at the swearing-in ceremony were the Vice Chairman Obot Akara LGA, Hon. Uduak Akpan, Leader Obot Akara LGC, Hon. Mary Moses Akpana, Councillors, political class among others.
