Rivers State Commissioner for Sports Hon. Boma Iyaye says Real Madrid Academy is ready to partner with the Nigerian Football Federation NFF in advancing the course of football development in the country.
He said this while inspecting the Real Madrid Academy facility alongside with the NFF President Amaju Pinnick and the Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Real Madrid Academy Mr. Chris Green.
According to the Commissioner, the Rivers State Government is interested and willing to partner with the NFF, noting that they have always partnered at various level because the governor is a sport loving governor.
He commended the NFF President for the inspection visit and assured that the State is ready to host and camp teams at the facility.
The NFF President, Mr. Amaju Pinnick promised to support Rivers State in building the Real Madrid Academy. Commending, he said ‘the facility is great and equip with state of the art facilities and built to a world class standard.’
Recounting, Pinnick said he was at the foundation laying ceremony two years ago, and described the speed and commitment as ‘incredibly impressive.’
He commended the Rivers State governor for the work done, saying, ‘at the ground breaking ceremony, many persons were skeptical about the reality of this facility within the span of two years.’
‘The Governor has shown absolute commitment , and has cleared the doubt of the doubting Thomases. We will be coming here in the next few months with very tall football personalities to commission this project,’ he assured.
