The President of the Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari had earlier increased the price of fuel from 159 naira to 170 per liter

He insisted that the increase in fuel price was unjustifiable, adding that there were other options to chose from seeing as the country thrived on its production
He added that the government had yet to come clean on the parameters being used for the hike in prices vis-a-vis Nigeria’s production, export, and accruing revenue.
He also added that the government are yet to expose the reasons for the fuel spike and its production, export and accruing revenue
He argued that certain facts regarding the status and volume of oil productions and sales had been withheld by energy officials
The secretary stated also that fraud was a playing factor in the management of the country’s natural resources responsible for the high cost and hardships suffered by millions of Nigerians
He concluded by appealing to the president to come through with his campaign promises about revamping the Nigerian oil sector and urged him to employ more competent hands
