How do I Change or Reset my Facebook Password?

Forgetting your Facebook password, or you suspected that your account has been hacked or you deactivated your Facebook account and you want to reactivate it is one among along a long list of reasons why you feel the need to change or reset your password. The good thing is that you can change your passwords as often as you wish, there is no limit to the number of times you can change your passwords.

So, let’s take a trip down and see how to reset or change your password.

It’s worthy to note that with the current changes made to the Facebook user interface, placement of certain things have changed or shuffled and placed under a different folder and this article is written taking those changes into consideration.

Change Your Password
To change your password on Facebook if you’re already logged in:
  1. Click  in the top right of Facebook.
  2. Select Settings & Privacy > Settings.
  3. Click Security and Login.
  4. Click Edit next to Change password.
  5. Enter your current password and new password.
  6. Click Save Changes.
If you’re logged in but have forgotten your password, follow the steps under Change Your Password then click Forgot your password? and follow the steps to reset it. Keep in mind that you’ll need access to the email associated with your account.
Reset Your Password
To reset your password if you’re not logged in to Facebook:
  1. Go to the Find Your Account Page.
  2. Type the email, mobile phone number, full name or username associated with your account, then click Search.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
