The win saw them move to the top of the Bundesliga table for that moment, though they are currently 5th on the log after other pending matches were concluded for week 3.

Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim stunch striker had his scoring chance denied by the woodwork with his third-minute shot and also, his team mate Oliver Baumann made a beautiful save to block Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna a goal as the game started in a very hot way.

It was a signal of a tough game as Dortmund were able to handle a handful of crosses early in the second half before making a great attack through the left that ended with Reyna firing home the opening goal with a bouncing shot to Baumann’s left.

Hoffenheim kept on so much pressure and equally pinned down a goal in the 61st minute of the encounter when Dennis Geiger found Christoph Baumgartner with a fine ball behind the defence, and the winger directs his shot across the goal keeper and finally into the net.

Dortmund, unintemidated by the clear danger Hoffenheim posed, kept on again eight minutes later as Jude Bellingham kept a loose clearance on his thigh right inside the 18 yard box before switching the ball into the lower left-hand corner to make it a 2-1 lead for the home team.

Hoffenheim through, Munas Dabbur believed they had been able to leave Dortmund with at least a point with a goal in the final minute of normal time which leveled the score 2-2, but Haaland sent a loose ball into the upper corner a minute later to send the home crowd into great celebrations.

The silent crowd swung in to joyous euphoria as they were well assured of 3 points in the night. This was of Haaland and his team mate’s effort to mark a remarkable ended to a game that started like a war.

Dortmund sticked to the 3-2 lead until the referee sounded the final whistle to end the match in 98th minute.
