Kenneth Petty, American rapper Nicki Minaj’s husband, has pleaded guilty to his failure to register as a sex offender.
According to PageSix, Kenneth pleaded guilty during a virtual court hearing Thursday to a charge of failure to register as a sex offender in California, USA.
The rapper’s husband is facing up to 10 years in prison — the maximum sentence allowed for the crime — and a lifetime of supervised release.
In 2020, Petty was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in the city of California. In July, 2019, Petty moved to California from New York , but according to law enforcement he got pulled over in Beverly Hills in November 2019 and that’s when his legal troubles started.
According to the reports, he was pulled over in November and arrested for not registering as a sex offender in California but was later released on a $20, 000 bond after being charged.
His crimes took place in New York back in 1995 when Petty was arrested and jailed for first-degree attempted rape. Petty served almost 4years in NY state prison for the crime and was required to register as a sex offender.
